Master Biomedical Sciences

The new master’s programme “Biomedical Sciences” started in summer semester 2015. This programme of three semesters is addressed to post graduate students with a Bachleor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Pharmacy.

The master’s programme is based on the Bachelor’s programme “Biomedical Sciences” of the School of Applied Chemistry. Its focus lies on the interdependency of biological systems and materials. Thus the students are working in development of innovative medical devices and biocompatible materials like stent coatings, cartilage surrogate or artificial heart valves.

There is a very strong orientation of the mainly Anglophone Master’s programme towards research. A research project of several months in Germany or abroad is a substantial part of the syllabus. The students benefit from the close connections to our research partners and industrial companies.
